Play School - Sublime Storytelling

When I saw an ad for a Play School concert at my local RSL, I couldn't resist! Thankfully, I have a great-niece who is three, so I had an excuse to go, and we had a wonderful time singing, dancing and listening to stories.
I’ve been trying to work out what makes Play School ‘sing’ decades after it first began, and I think it comes down to 3 things:
(a) knowing (as in really, really knowing) their audience
(b) storytelling that has elements of repetition and child involvement
(c) music, movement and bucket-loads of silliness and fun.

So inspiring to see storytelling on stage captivate an audience of toddlers!
Afterwards we had some chill-out story time with some Play School merch. Not quite as energetic as the stories on stage, but just as magical.
